If yearling sales were easy, everyone would be doing it! Overall, we were happy with our results at Goffs and Tattersalls: our stock have found homes in the UK, Italy, Singapore, and in Ireland, and we wish the new owners the very best of luck with their purchases.
We were thrilled to see Noel O’Callaghan achieve €1.7 million at Goffs for his Frankel filly out of Tinnakill-bred Alexander Goldrun, who gave us so much pleasure with her globe-trotting exploits.
Now the attention turns to the foal and breeding stock sales. We will be selling 27 foals at Goffs and Tattersalls (maybe one of them is the next Alexander Goldrun!), and we have nice drafts of in-foal mares destined for both Kill and Newmarket.
Our good friend Kevin Blake has been giving us loads of social media coverage lately. He has asked us to consign two foals for him: a colt by Dream Ahead and a colt by Famous Name. Both will sell at Goffs, and in a series of posts on the At The Races website he chronicles the stages of preparing foals for sales. They are an absolute must-read for anyone interested in a ‘behind-the-scenes’ look at the work that goes into getting foals to the sales ring.
Both foals are doing well, and we hope they will repay Kevin’s confidence in us – if the number of Twitter notifications is anything to go by they will be keenly watched at the sales.
